There's been a public bar on the corner of Union Road and Garden Street in Magherafelt since 1864 and the reputation for the best live music that has been garnered over recent years looks like ensuring it will stay that way for a long time to come.

Owned by the Bryson family for the last 70 years the current proprietors, husband and wife team Peter and Patricia, divide the organizational work between them while the rest of the family can often be found helping out behind the bar. They have developed a potent mix of hearty lunches prepared from fresh local produce, a Buddha-themed beer-garden to while away the summer afternoons and an eclectic variety of top-quality sounds and performances in the evening
